Today, on December 18, 2018, the Korean Business Forum was held, with participation of South Korean investors and the Commissioner for Protection of Rights and Legitimate Interests of Entrepreneurs under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Business Ombudsman).
Business Forum was dedicated to the discussion of issues related to the operation of South Korean investors in the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the Forum, potential South Korean investors were acquainted with the investment possibilities of Uzbekistan.
It must be noted that Uzbekistan and South Korea have long-standing and strong partnership in economic, social, cultural and other fields.
Right after independence, South Korean investors were among the first to enter to the newly established market of Uzbekistan. Share of Uzbekistan in South Korean trade with Central Asian countries amounts to almost 50%.
Today in Uzbekistan more than 500 companies with South Korean investments and 70 representative offices successfully operate in almost all sectors of the economy.
Participants of the Forum were also informed about the system of protection of rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs.
In particular, with the work of the Business Ombudsman under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is an institution of for reviewing enquiries of entrepreneurs against actions or inactions of state bodies and organizations that violate rights of entrepreneurs.
During the forum, an agreement was reached with South Korean partners to work out the issue of cooperation between the Business Ombudsman and Foreign Investment Ombudsman and Small and Medium Business Ombudsman of South Korea.
We believe that the activities that are being carried out will serve to support business entities, ensure protection of their rights, as well as prevent various obstacles and barriers in business sphere.
