On the 17th of December the second day of international conference ‘Integrity in Business, International Standards, and Next Steps’ was held in Tashkent. Continuing the thematic of the conference, Business Ombudsman of the Republic of Uzbekistan D. Kasimov made a speech, in which guests of the forum got acquainted in details with the activities of the institution of Business Ombudsman.
Thus, it was noted that the institution of Business Ombudsman serves as a bridge between entrepreneurs and governmental bodies, giving the opportunity to establish a contact between them. Moreover, it was mentioned that the institution of Business Ombudsman on the regular basis elaborates bills and makes proposals on improving the legislation in the field of entrepreneurship.
Accordingly, during 2 years of functioning more than 50 proposals of Business Ombudsman on improving the legislation in the sphere entrepreneurship were approved. In addition, during the event the Business Ombudsman of Kazakhstan B. Palimbetov also delivered a speech. Special attention was paid to the goals and functions of the institution. The institution of Business Ombudsman in Kazakhstan was established in 2016 and considers the appeals of entrepreneurs, protects their rights and interests, and takes legal actions to restore their rights. It was underlined that instructions like Business Ombudsman play an important role in development of business.
It was noted that it is necessary to work in combating the corruption and strengthen the role of Business Ombudsmen in this sphere. In the continuation of the conference speeches on the topic of compliance and the fight against corruption were delivered by the representative of Basel University Gemma Ayolfi, the representative of Ukrainian Network and Compliance (UNIC) Yuliya Vrublyovska, and the expert form Turkey Taifun Zaman. In the framework of the conference the guests were given the opportunity to ask questions.
